Where Is The Argyllshire Map In Hogwarts Legacy?
The Argyllshire Map is located on the first floor in the South Wing of Gryffindor Tower. It’s relatively easy to locate and, for anyone who is playing as Gryffindor house, you will most likely have already stumbled across the map within your first few minutes of gameplay.
To find the Argyllshire Map in Hogwarts Legacy, follow these 5 simple steps:
- Step 1: Fast Travel to the Clock Tower Courtyard Floo Flame.
- Step 2: Exit the small door next to the Floo Flame
- Step 3: Run across the bridge and enter the door directly in front of you.
- Step 4: Look 90° to the left, immediately after you pass through the door.
- Step 5: Cast the “Revelio” spell to see the Argyllshire Map on the wall.

How To Open The Argyllshire Map?
Now that you have your field guide page, it’s time to open the Argyllshire Map.
If you have been wondering how to solve the Argyllshire map puzzle, the good news is that it’s not all that difficult. In fact, it’s not really a puzzle as such, rather, a quick flick of the wand.
To open the Argyllshire Map (also known as the map on the wall), you will need to cast the Depulso spell at the gold button that is situated at the top. Once you have the Depulso spell in your spell wheel, simply aim your wand at the gold button and cast Depulso at it.
If you have cast the Depulso spell correctly, the button will press back into the wall and the Argyllshire map will start to gradually unfold. Behind the map, you will see a hidden corridor that is home to a chest, a moth frame puzzle and a note to collect.
Unfortunately, without the Depulso spell (also known as, the Banishing Charm), you will not be able to gain entry into the Argyllshire Map. But don’t worry, the Depulso spell is relatively easy to acquire and we have a short tutorial for you below!
How To Unlock Depulso Spell?
The Depulso spell is used within Hogwarts Legacy to banish enemies that get too close. Without the Depulso spell, you won’t be able to open the Argyllshire Map.
While unlocking the Depulso spell is relatively simple, you will be required to gather ingredients to brew the Focus, Maxima and Endurus potions. This takes a little time to complete, however, at least you won’t have to drink these potions just to survive when completing this task.
To unlock the Depulso spell in Hogwarts Legacy, follow these 5 simple steps:
- Step 1: Complete your first potions class in the main quest
- Step 2: Start Professor Sharp’s first assignment
- Step 3: Gather three potions (Focus Potion, Maxima Potion & Endurus Potion)
- Step 4: Use these potions once they have been brewed
- Step 5: Return back to class to unlock the Depulso Spell.
Once you have completed this class, you will be able to use the Depulso spell for both the map and enemies that you encounter throughout your travels.
Argyllshire Map Moth Mirror Location
Now that you have opened the Argyllshire map, you will no doubt be hunting for the moth to transport back to the mirror that you will find inside the corridor.
To find the moth for the Argyllshire Map moth mirror, turn right from the Argyllshire Map and locate the girls’ bathroom. Once you have entered the girls’ bathroom, cast “Lumos” to bring the moth back to the mirror on the wall within the Argyllshire Map.
Out of all the puzzles, the Hogwarts Legacy Argyllshire map puzzle is actually relatively easy to solve. At first, you may be bashing your head against the wall (or the button) wondering how to unlock the Argyllshire map.
But, once you learn that you just need to wait for a little to get the Depulso spell, this curious map quickly becomes just another tick in the box throughout your time in Hogwarts Legacy.
