Borderlands 2
Developer: Gearbox Software & Aspyr
Platform: PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 & Xbox One
It would be a cardinal sin to not include an actual Borderlands game within this list and the pick of the bunch is Borderlands 2. While there’s no harm choosing Borderlands 1 or 3, the quintessential Borderlands is the second in the series. It is without question the most balanced Borderlands game to date.
Selling over 22 million copies, Borderlands 2 is the highest-selling entry in the entire series to date and for good reason. With a remastered version available for PS4 & Xbox One, Borderlands 2 has aged very well despite first release back in 2012.
The reason why Borderlands 2 is considered the best in the series is primarily due to a bigger budget being allocated to the game. Through this, Gearbox Software & Aspyr were able to fix a lot of issues that hampered Borderlands 1 and develop a storyline that really hits home. There’s still plenty of carnage of course but the overall gameplay and visuals are starkly improved.
If you have weeks to dedicate to Borderlands then play all 3 titles.
However, for anybody looking for just one that’s extremely similar to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, then, Borderlands 2 is the without question the pick of the bunch.
Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep
Developer: Gearbox Software & Iron Galaxy
Platform: PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 & Xbox One
If you do decide that Borderlands 2 is the most similar game to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, you can also enjoy the first instalment of Tiny Tina herself with Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC!
Of course, while the graphics won’t have aged well comparatively, the storyline is epic and the concept remains relatively similar. Developed this time around in collaboration with Iron Galaxy. you will once more play out a game of Bunkers & Badasses with huge amounts of replayability and an infinite amount of carnage. Not only in terms of storytelling but the gameplay and world of Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep also share strong similarities.

Take yourself back to when Tiny Tina was first introduced and enjoy the many reasons why everybody fell in love with our crazy psychotic teenager in the first place. For anyone who just fell in love with Tiny Tina, playing through Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep with be as close as you will get to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
Dishonored 2
Developer: Arkane Studios
Platform: PC, PS4 & Xbox One
If there’s one studio that knows how to make games with storylines as good as Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands then that would be Arkane Studios. Of which, Dishonored 2 is the best of the bunch.
As a first-person action and stealth game, your playstyle will be different but your entertainment will be equal, if not better. As the queen’s bodyguard, Corvo Attano, Dishonored 2 is a mixture of both stealth and combat. You can choose to cut down enemies face to face or hide within the shadows for a killer blow that nobody saw coming – even you!
Similarly to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Dishonored 2 will also encourage you to loot and attack as you travel through the epic storyline. While Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands focuses on delivering super-natural gunfire through melding custom weaponry, Dishonored 2 places this power within Corvo Attano.
Believe us, you will need Corvo’s supernatural abilities at times because Dishonored 2 plays out to be an increasingly difficult game compared to Tiny Tina’s light-hearted thriller.
Bioshock Infinite
Developer: 2K Games
Platform: PC, Xbox, Playstation & Mac
Similarly to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Bioshock Infinite also comes from the studios of 2K Games. Of which, you can expect very similar levels of gameplay quality through both titles. As far as over quality, Bioshock is one of those games like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands that you simply just cannot miss.
Unanimously considered as one of the best first-person shooters, Playstation & PC, Bioshock Infinite is the most ambitious of the series and takes centre stage with the many awards it has acquired over the years. Frankly, we would consider Bioshock Infinite as one of the best games ever made. Period.
Taking place within an airborne Columbian city in 1912, you will assume the role of Booker DeWitt who has the sole mission of saving a woman being held captive. Embroiled with adventure throughout the city’s rail systems, Bioshock Infinite has a very different feel to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands but many similarities nonetheless.
For starters, Booker has access to a wide number of weapons and special abilities which we know you all loved throughout Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. In addition, there’s also a stunning storyline to follow and plenty of loot to be acquired or unlocked throughout. We seriously could write a whole series on BioShock so we suggest you just play it instead of reading our drivel!
Outer Worlds
Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
Platform: PC, Xbox, Playstation & Mac
Similarly to Tiny Tina, Outer Worlds has hundreds of quips and quirky lines throughout the storyline which makes for a colourful and light-hearted adventure. As one of the best RPG makers around, Obsidian Entertainment absolutely crushed it with Outer Worlds and you seriously need to play this game.
As a first-person action shooter, Outer Worlds is set on a beautiful planet with plenty of alien beings to castrate. Including plenty of side quests, secret loot and valuable items worth selling, you’ll feel very much at home with Outer Worlds having played Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands; albeit on a faraway planet.
In keeping with the Obsidian tradition, how you approach The Outer Worlds is up to you. Your choices affect not only the way the story develops; but your character build, companion stories, and end game scenarios.
While Tiny Tina’s storyline plays out no matter how you approach it, the added addition to this mechanic within Outer World’s makes for an incredible game to play for any Tiny Tiny Wonderlands fans.
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Developer: Tango Gameworks
Platform: PS5
As Borderlands was to many consoles, Ghostwire: Tokyo is the next best thing exclusively on Playstation. If you are only buying one looter-shooter game this year, you may be considering between Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Ghostwire: Tokyo. The fact is, you won’t go wrong with either of them!
In Ghostwire: Tokyo, a massive paranormal event causes the sudden disappearance of 99% of the population while spirits from Japanese folklore storm Tokyo. Players will harness paranormal abilities to solve the mystery of the disappearances and save the city. There are elements of horror, definitely guns and all-around top-quality action-adventure.
If we had to compare Ghostwire: Tokyo, we would say that this game is a mixture of doom 2016 and Borderlands but much slower than doom. It also does not have deep customisation options like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands nor does the game have deep RPG systems.
However, it’s on course to be one of the best games this year and is perfect for anybody who wants a game similar to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands but without all the nitty-gritty detail.
The Final Word
If you’re anything like us, you absolutely loved Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and wish the fun wouldn’t end. The good news is that there are plenty of video games like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands for you to enjoy. While none of them will feel entirely identical (which is a good thing), there are many elements that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has drawn inspiration.
No matter whether you like looter-shooters in general or were in awe with the storytelling on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, we guarantee there will be a title here that you will love.
